Replacement of an old, no longer supported SAP archiving system
Everyone knows this: A tool that has been in use for ages and simply does its job is not developed further, supported or discontinued altogether. 😟 This is particularly bad when it comes to SAP in a B2B environment. Good advice is hard to come by. 💸
The company operates in the automotive industry and has around 8,000 employees worldwide. At the start of the project, the customer used SAP ECC as well as SAP modules such as FI, CO, etc.
The problem
The medium-sized company in the DACH region that uses SAP was faced with a challenge. The existing solution for SAP archiving was outdated and was no longer being developed or supported by the manufacturer. In addition, the company lacked the necessary know-how for SAP archiving, and the large number of solutions available on the market made it difficult to make a suitable choice. Although the archived volume was manageable, there was an urgent need for a future-proof solution for SAP archiving in the ECC and SAP S/4HANA environment. Another requirement was the ability to dock the SAP BTP via CMIS in the future in order to store or access documents.
The solution
Our approach was to carefully analyze the customer's needs and requirements. We offered a SaaS solution for SAP archiving that was ready for productive use within just five days. The migration of the legacy data could therefore take place immediately and the estimated migration time was just four weeks. Our pay-per-use model, which includes the license and complete SAP operation, offered the customer a flexible and cost-effective solution.
The result
The result was a future-proof solution for archiving SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and SAP ILM. The customer benefited from clearly calculable costs for a managed service that offers both the solution and the infrastructure from a single source. The customer was also able to access our comprehensive SAP archive know-how, which helped them to successfully master the challenges of SAP archiving.
